The truly fab late Linda Gage who taught us both so much about this medium believed that structure was paramount. She said: 'Good radio shows have light and shade, beginnings, middles and ends.' So your show should follow a definite path, have a beginning, have something in the middle and come to an end - hopefully with a flourish, so you leave the studio elated not exhausted. The light and shade comes with the choice of story, you should have lighter stories alongside the more serious ones.
