Pirates Sunk

If everytime you passed a picture in the National Gallery you had to pay a fee to view the work as a payment to the artist who painted the picture two or three hundred years ago ... it would be considered madness. It's what the music industry expects us to do with 'royalty' fees. Is it now time for a fair and reasonable music licence fee for all media? And do you think that we will get the legal breadth of choice you can obtain from the illegal download sites like Pirate Bay whose founders have just been sent to prison?
