Goodbyes are always a bad thing on the radio. Whether it's that 'goodbye from me' at the end of the show - yes you might be leaving the building but your listener is staying. By all means tell them when you will be back, but keep the goodbyes for the day you lose your contract. Also when you deal with a call on air, once they have made their point fade them down unless you want to return to them, that helps your show sound tighter and enables you to segue straight to the next call and their point and you keep up the pace of the show.
