Some presenters mistake their private lives, the endless and dull
discussion of their private life, as 'personality' radio. Sure the odd
mention of the family is OK but don't endlessly talk about yourself - it's boring. Personal views, though are universal and interesting and can be related to by the listener. source: Valerie Geller
Valerie is about 90% right, my caveat - if you can take something from your private life and use it as an example of a personal view, that's fine. But vacuously chatting about everyday things, is frankly boring radio.
