Listener loyalty has nothing to do with listeners being loyal to your radio station rather you being loyal to your listener.

Things that really p*ss listeners off include changing presenters frequently tinkering with your music policy, providing poor local information, doing something on air that is likely to polorize your audience - an example - putting an 'wacky' presenter who enjoys near adult humour at teatime.  So stay loyal to your listener understand what they want not what you need to please the shareholders or board.

This doesn't mean a recipe for bland broadcasting if you understand your audience you can suprise and delight them and with their resepect they will allow you to chalenge some of their thoughts and ideas.  So be loyal to your listener.
