6 Music 'Saved'

Well I never - strike me with a blunt instrument they've only gone and saved Six Music.  Which will be literally music to the ears of my dear friend Chris who is a presenter on the station.  I don't think the BBC had a choice but to listen to public opinion.

I remember when LBC lost the franchise and the headline 'LBC loses licence' was splashed all over the Evening Standard, well for the next few weeks we were inundated by callers.  Dame Shirl organised a 'Save LBC Campaign' which was attended by more than a thousand listeners, sadly misguided by our Ms Porter into thinking that people power would be listened to at the then IBA.
So good luck to 6 - just one thing can you call it Radio 6 now please?
